That's right, all I have to do now is wait for it to come in.

Nice revolver. Post a range report once you have the gun. These have a pretty good reputation for being nail-gunners (accurate).

When the gun came in it wasn't working (I knew that when I bought it). I took it apart, and the inside was caked with cosmoline. It took me about an hour to figure out how it goes back together, but it took me two days to actually get it back together. I still haven't fired it yet.
It has nitro proof marks on thecylinder, barrel, and frame. it also has a "65" and what appears to be the Ulm proof house mark on it. I think the 65 is the year of manufacture, but can't be sure.

H&R once made a similar double action SAA type rimfire revolver. I remember seeing it listed in the New Products column in American Hunter when I was a little kid.

Congratulations on the RG. The .38 specials are known to be reliable revolvers. Do you plan to shoot it, or is it primarily an addition to your now-growing collection?

Well... The closest I could find anyine selling .45 Schofield was in Salina; so I drove out there and picked them up. I also picked up a box of 158gr lrn .38 Spl. I ended up taking my dad to the range and had him fire off the .45 and I tested out my .38
The first dozen or so shots were rough because the trigger was inconsistient, but it smoothed out. It's definantly an accurate pistol. I was shooting the RG and my Pietta 1851 (R&D .45), and my dad shot my Uberti (1873). We were about half way therough the shoot when we shot the 2x4 (that was holding the target) in half.
All in all though: I think I will beat up other guns and just fire this one on special occasions.

I got on the ground and made myself as stable as possible and got this at 45 feet, measured with a tape measure.

Then I shot standing to where basically my right arm was straight out with the heel of my right hand in the palm of my left and my left arm was bent.

Three strings of six on each target with an RG-63 in .38 spl http://img259.imageshack.us/img259/7090/imgp0002.jpg http://img259.imageshack.us/img259/5381/imgp0003.jpg

Good show!

Those are very impressive groups at 45 feet. I'd say you've got a keeper there.

The model 649? I have one, but I don't have the .22mag cylinder for it, just the .22lr. It's a slick shooter, I like mine. Paid all of $75 for it.
