Not sure what I am getting in to when I bid on it, of all the guns I purchased in my endeavor of an SNS arsenal, this has to look the roughest. Hopefully I will be able to buy a mag for cheap |

Well, if the bore is OK, it's probably just some easily-obtainable part(s) that need to be replaced. Cosmetics are rough, for sure, but some spray paint can fix that up.
I'm not sure, but others will be: I think the JA-NINE mags will work if you can't find affordable originals.
Keep us posted on this resurrection -- looks interesting!

I don't have a Jennings Nine, but from what I understand, the JA-9 parts are completely interchangeable.

Haven't go it home yet, but managed to look at it. Easiest gun to field strip:D
First thing is the safety is on and is partially out of battery. Click off the slide and and the slide opened up. No recoil spring or piece. The sear doesn't want to move, so I will have to take off the grip and find out why when it finally comes home. |

Well, you don't have it home yet, and you're already well on the way to diagnoses (plural, in expectation of more than one problem)
But, so far, sounds good, with no major obstacles. Rock on! _________________ I have faith in the arms of totalitarian regimes: they rely on them as their only means of survival. |

I was called today by my FFL because I was a proceed on my 4473. Wow is this thing ever dirty. I figured out my problem with the trigger: The magazine disconnect.
Oh, yeah forgot to mention that I spent some time with it yesterday while filling out the 4473.
So I need:
recoil spring
recoil spring piece
magazine |

| Parts finally arrived, and the magazine. Only had enough light to shoot five, but they all went bang and kicked up dirt generally where I wanted. Magazine spring is stiff, and will need time to break- in properly. I function tested everything, and noticed that after three or four attempts to pull the trigger: The firing pin will drop with the safety on. |

I wish you better luck with your new Nine than mine. I packed mine up and sent it off to Jimenez Arms today--issues, magazines that will not release, will not chamber all brands of ammo, and FTE's approx 15% of the time. Since the pistol is a year old today, I figured I have had enough frustration with it, and will let Jimenez deal with the problems.
On the bright side, the pistol is under warranty! Yeah. _________________ The JA22 saga ended at 14,068 rounds on 11/19/09 RIP

| Well... It has another 45 rounds to go to impress me. If it does well, then I will see what I can do to make the safety work, if not, then I'll cut the receiver and sell it for parts. |

Shoot me an email before you do that. I'm willing to give a home to that problem child. |

Fired off the box I started on yesterday, and had four malfunctions: Three were due to my thumb hitting the magazine release, and one stovepipe due to me trying a different grip the didn't work nor feel comfortable. My target was a plain brown grocery bag; about human torso sized, or so. All rounds fell within 4" of roughly the center of the bag (8" dia.)
I figure I can throw some silver solder or a tack weld on the safety so it actually touches the sear when engaged and scrounge up a stiffer spring for the magazine release (maybe).
No need to be alarmed, nothing drastic... it's safe |
