Well the current body count is 12 dead. 31 wounded. Pretty bad when these brave people who have pledged their lives for our safety and our country to be killed and wounded on our own soil. I heard one news account say it was not a terrorist or a "nut job". This is EXACTLY a nut job! No rational human being would do this. Thoughts and prayers to all affected by this tragedy. Still waiting on an update from CNN. _________________ Some spend a lifetime wondering if they made a difference. The Marines don't have that problem. |

I agree with the call for all of us to pray for the families of the soldiers and civilians killed and those who have been wounded. It’s difficult enough when we lose these brave Americans in battles overseas. It is horrifying that they should come under fire at an army base on American soil.
Fellow members, this is an event that adds to the dark stain in the fabric of the American flag, whose nation has provided us the 2nd Amendment rights that we seek to preserve through forums such as this.
The current reports are that a policewomen was able to shoot the killer (wounding him) and thus preventing more deaths. I am sure we will read more tomorrow.
May God bless our troops and our country, and those who stand willing to defend freedom. _________________ Can a JA22 last 10K rounds? Mine did!

Early reports mentioned as many as three shooters, and at that point, I was betting on clandestine, in-the-military radicals. Now that the true count seems to be one, it may well be a nutcase, even though he is potentially linked to radical internet posts. Since he's apparently going to live, maybe we'll be able to find out something.
All that crap about the shooter aside, God be with the families and the surviving victims. _________________ I have faith in the arms of totalitarian regimes: they rely on them as their only means of survival. |

My thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families...
That said, the fact that the terrorist nutjob used privately acquired handguns is not a helpful fact for law abiding gun owners... _________________ "All the gold on earth, all the Glory of Heaven for nine pounds of steel, the AK-47." |

So a person who works for the government kills a bunch of people. I wonder if they will force more laws on civilians because of this... _________________ "You have nothing if you have no rights" http://www.a-human-right.com/ |
