Had a blast today. Very happy my wife is also into SNS.
I gotta ask my friends here a few questions though. First off, what you think of my new SNS? Hope i did good.
The black one is a Jennings 22. I was easily able to take this one down. Man it was dirty. Either previous owner didn't care or have the pation of SNS like I do, or just didn't know how to Take her down. Range report to follow. Hope to go tomorrow. The only concern i have is the firing pin as it seemed a little small on the firing pin end. I need to find a good one so i can compare with mine. If you got a known good one "firing pin" share a pic so i can compare with mine.
The Chrome or gold one. Not sure what it is. I cant find nothing on the internet. It's a .25 Cal Guardian. Says F.I.E. CORP Miami, FL on the other side. How do i take this one down to clean it?
Thanks guys! Keep up the great site.
John

First, congrats, and we look forward to hearing more.
As for the Guardian, F.I.E. was an importer who sold primarily German and Italian pistols pre-68. As for how to break it down, I don't know, but my first suggestion would be to look here:
http://bryco-jennings-jimenezarms.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=535
That Valor looks suspiciously like the Guardian, and they may be the same under different labels. Even if it's not the same, I strongly suspect that the trick is rotating the safety something like what's shown in the link. _________________ I have faith in the arms of totalitarian regimes: they rely on them as their only means of survival. |

Farmkid, You Rock.
Wife says many many thanks. She sitting here cleaning it now!
Thank you again! How old you think the gun is? 60's, 70's? What you think the value would be? I know guns like this SNS have more value to you and me as we appreciate them. But what you think?

My firing pin for the Jennings 22 is just like this one Gun Broker. Is this stubby firing pin correct? I figured the pin side that strikes the bullet was to short and stubby, but then i saw this on gun broker. Is this legit? If so then i should be good and will head to the range manana.

The firing pin is the correct one for the Jennings J22. It could be that you have a later model take-down button with a larger hole (the JA22 and some very late J22's had this) to accomodate the "cocked indicator." Your best bet would be to post a picture of the assembled pistol from the take-down button end with the pistol in the "cocked" position.
As for the FIE, it appears to be their version of the Italian Regarmi Galesi which was built until the 1970s. If so, the pistol is a post-1968 ban, which likely would put the build date sometime in the 1970s or early 1980s. _________________ The JA22 saga ended at 14,068 rounds on 11/19/09 RIP

The striker pin for the rimfire is much shorter than for the centerfire cartridges. The J-22 has an ejector in the frame and doesn't require the pin to assist in case ejection like a .32 or .380.
Congrats on the Guardian! It has the Miami, FLA assembly stamp, so it is post '68. _________________ Maine. Where the Moose is King of the Road (by default). |

All .25 ACP are more or less the same. Any store bought .25 and you should be fine.

Had it been pre '68, it would have had the "Made in Italy" stamp on it. The manufacturer got around the ban by shipping in the parts and assembling them in Miami. Hence, it is no longer an evil import, and instead - MADE IN USA! _________________ Maine. Where the Moose is King of the Road (by default). |

Hey hows it. Actually have only shot it once since but have sat here shinning it up many many times. Polishing it gives me just as much fun.
Didn't make the range this last Sunday as expected due to another function we had to go taking to long. Missed 1/2 the Cowboys game too. What the heck.
So plan on taking them out this weekend, and now i got an itch to Shoot the Lorcin. Thanks a lot! ha ha. _________________ John

Is that just on the side shown or on both sides? I would say from this view to continue using it but keep a close eye on it. (I am no expert, nor do I even play one on any forum) _________________
